WeEmbody Lab
The is a faculty-mentored, student-driven research and community impact group at the AVÌìÌÃ꿉۪s School of Health Sciences. Together, we are committed to training the next generation of public health leaders who will work to strengthen the health and well-being of their communities—starting right here in West Haven.
By working side by side, students and faculty collaborate on hands-on projects that address urgent community needs such as food insecurity, access to health services, and preventive health education. This model not only gives students real-world public health training but also ensures that faculty expertise is guiding sustainable, evidence-based solutions for the community.
To prepare and mentor students, in partnership with faculty, as community-focused public health leaders dedicated to promoting health equity, advancing health education, and improving the lives of residents in West Haven and surrounding communities.
We envision healthier, more equitable communities where residents have reliable access to nutritious food, health services, and opportunities to thrive through education and prevention.
The WeEmbody Lab brings research, service, and leadership training together to make a measurable impact. Our work includes:
- Community Service: Hosting and participating in local health fairs, food drives, and service events that directly benefit West Haven residents.
