Walker Fuchs, shares how after 10 years of conducting cancer research that volunteering at MakeHaven in New Haven, driven by his love of workworking, ultimately led to him transitioning his career to becoming a director of technology and makerspace for a K-8 school, before joining the University. He discussed how people across the University use the Makerspace in the Bergami Center for Science, Technology, and Innovation for everything from arts and crafts to 3-D modeling and robotics. “We can make almost anything,” he said. He also shared his passion for creating informal learning spaces as well as running ultramarathons.
